David Bowden was appointed as President of Sussex Cricket for a second year at the Sussex Cricket Limited AGM lastnight, held at The 1st Central County Ground, Hove.
Bowden stood down from the Board after 10 years of distinguished service. Richard Barrow, Jon Filby and Gary Stanley were the only nominations for three Board vacancies and were each duly appointed as Non-Executive Directors, for three years to 31 March 2019 .
After the formal part of the AGM when Individual Members and Affiliated Club Members approved the 2015 Accounts, an open forum was held. Members raised points and asked questions of Chairman Jim May, Chief Executive Zac Toumazi , Director of Cricket Keith Greenfield, Head Coach Mark Davis, Captain Luke Wright, and Managing Director of the Sussex Cricket Foundation Tim Shutt, with a number of interesting topics discussed.
Keith Greenfield outlined his priorities as the first Sussex Director of Cricket and Tim Shutt told of the plans for the new charitable arm whose vision is “creating better futures”. Mark Davis and Luke Wright spoke optimistically about the new season.
Jim May, said, “With the new management team in place, we look forward to the new season with relish, and we are hopeful for success for both on and off the pitch.”
