Chris Brown, Technical Training Manager for Jointing Tech has delivered another accredited Medium Voltage training course to experienced installers that included the following accessories: MXSU 3131, SHSS 12A IND, IXSU-F3331 & SM0E 64730
This comprehensive training course included modules such as:
- AWS cable preparation including aluminium wire screens temporarily secured over adjustable support ring.
- Cable sheath abrasion prior to flame brushing, this is an important step, enabling a satisfactory bond for both adhesives & resins.
- MXSU flame brushed cable sheath. Following abrasion, the cable sheath is then flame brushed, also shows the copper wire screen connector protection tape.
- MXSU outer sealing sleeve installation which includes installing the outer thick wall outer sealing sleeve.
- Application of the red sealing tape SHSS 12A IND.
- Installing the moisture sealing tape around the support ring between the amours and the metallic cage connections.
- Checking clearances prior to the joint shell fitting. Prior to fitting the joint shell, we need to ensure there is a minimum of 10mm thickness of filling medium between the joint and shell (exception being the stand off positions).
