Jim May has been elected as the first Chairman of Sussex Cricket Ltd (SCL) at the initial Board meeting of the new organisation.
Bob Warren, who has been Chairman of the Sussex Premier Cricket League for several years, was elected Vice Chairman and Ed Putnam FCA was elected Hon. Treasurer.
SCL is responsible for the governance and development of the whole game in the County and was formed on 1st November 2015 as the result of the merger of Sussex County Cricket Club (SCCC) and Sussex Cricket Board (SCB) into one governing body
May said, “I believe that Sussex Cricket is in a very good position to enhance the development of cricket throughout Sussex. Our professional team has a new Head Coach in Mark Davis and a new Captain in Luke Wright and we have a strong squad for 2016.
"Recreational cricket is in good health with 245 affiliated Clubs who played more matches in 2015 than the previous year. In addition we have a growing role in building better futures and stronger communities through the power of cricket with our new charity, Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF). Sussex has a proud cricket tradition and our new organisation has a clear vision to inspire a passion for cricket in the heart of our communities"
