SECOND ELEVEN: Bailey and Wells star for Sussex at Nomads

Sussex County Cricket Club | 14th July, 2015

Sussex’s Second Eleven replicated the NatWest T20 Blast victory from Friday by beating Glamorgan by eight wickets, in the 2nd XI Trophy at Preston Nomads yesterday.

After Sussex won the toss and asked Glamorgan to bat first, the visitors made 178 for 9 as Luke Wells’ incredible spell yielded six wickets. From seven overs the leg-spinner took figures of 6 for 21. There were also scalps for George Garton, Sam Grant, Michael Yardy and Will Beer.

In reply, Sussex reached their target in only the 24th over as Australian star George Bailey struck an unbeaten 109 from only 71 balls, which included 13 fours and five sixes.

Sussex begin a three-day match against the same opposition at Preston Nomads this morning and play begins at 11.00am. Entrance is of course FREE
