Ashar Zaidi struck an unbeaten 146 from 127 deliveries as Sussex’s Second Eleven beat Middlesex at Richmond CC today, in the Second Eleven Trophy competition.
Sussex were dismissed for 324 in the 49th over with Zaidi, who struck 20 fours and two sixes the mainstay of the innings. Delray Rawlins of the Academy (34), Callum Jackson (27) and Phil Salt (25) also chipped in whilst James Harris claimed figures of 5 for 56 for the opposition.
And Zaidi wasn’t finished as he took three wickets with the ball to finish the Middlesex innings as the pick of the bowlers. He claimed 3 for 38 from his nine overs whilst there were two wickets apiece for Rawlins and trialist Graeme van Buuren.
